We purchased a specific bed for a disabled student last year for which
the university paid. I considered the fact that we offer accommodation
to all students including bed and other furniture and therefore
justified it to be an institution responsibility.

We have previously paid for a bed for a disabled student through the
Access to
Learning Fund, as a one-off disability related payment. It was however
paid
for initially by the disability service and then we reclaimed the money.
Hope
this helps!
