Post ref: AC05/13INT
TWO LECTURERS IN CRIMINOLOGY (Salary Scale Lec A/B ££23,643 - £35,883)
Post ref: AC05/14INT
We are making a number of new appointments to enhance and extend our
research and teaching in the area of Criminology. We seek to attract an
internationally eminent, research-active criminologist to a professorial
appointment. The post will appeal particularly to those with experience of
research management and academic leadership, as, in addition to teaching
within the new School, the successful applicant would be expected to be
prominent in developing research within the new Research Institute for Law,
Politics and Justice, of which the Centre for Criminological Research is a
part.
Additionally, we wish to appoint two permanent Lecturers in Criminology at
either Scale A or B depending upon the experience and qualifications of the
candidate. The successful applicants will be research-active and able to
contribute to Criminology's RAE submission in 2008. They will contribute to
core undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and will also have the
opportunity to teach in their own specialist area of Criminology. We
welcome applications in all specialisms but one successful applicant will
play a significant role in the development of an inter-disciplinary MA
programme in the Ethics of Policing and Criminal Justice, due to start in
2006/7.
Applications are invited from graduates with records of achievement in
research, publication and teaching. A postgraduate degree in Criminology or
a related subject is highly desirable. The person appointed will bring
qualities of drive, theoretical curiosity and enthusiasm for teaching and
research to enhance the work of this thriving RAE 5 rated group.
