I think the guidance you refer to was produced by UUK (or CVCP as it then was) together
with the Dfes. The "policy" was that fee refunds for FT undergraduates should be based on
a 30 week year irrespective of the actual length of the academic year. Thus divde the FT
annual fee by 30, count the number of weeks attended and use this as the fee multiplier.
I think this guidance was issued in the late 1990s.
We do not charge fees to a student who withdraws within the 1st three weeks of
enrollment.

I believe that there are some good practice guidelines in existence
relating to tuition fee refund policies for students who withdraw from
their course prior to their expected end date. I think that these may
have been published by the dfes but have been unable to locate them.
Is anyone aware of such guidelines?
