We've used Mascot Battery Voltage Converters. There's a range of them
in RS. Many take a nominal 24V input and can provide an output of +12V
or 24V regulated.
We've also powered a laptop computer that required +16V dc. For this
we used an Artesyn Voltage Converter with an adjustable output voltage.
That particular converter is no longer available but there will no doubt
be an equivalent.
