Hi everybody,
I have been receiving e-mails from the Assistech group for a while but never

ventured out to posing a question myself. However I am in a situation at the
moment where I don't quite know what to do and wonder whether anybody else
has come across a similar problem. Here it is:

A partially sighted MS client has been using an Apollo Epic for a number
of years successsfully around familiar areas i.e. his home. His postural
needs
and fatigue factor have increased and we have assessed him in a Spectra
Plus and a Dynamic Dolphin Tray Remote and electric ELRs mainly for the
electric tilt mechanism. The problem arose when he tried to operate
the control box with it's flush buttons which give no auditory feed
back. It was difficult for him to reach and press the buttons as he
hasn't got a lot of strength in his fingers. Even when he managed to
reach the correct button (more buy chance than by design) he couldn't
tell whether he was in drive mode or actuator mode due to his poor
vision, which can be potentially very dangerous. The whole purpose of
providing this piece of equipment to him is to give him the independence of
changing his position when necessary and to be able to drive around his
home.

So, what I am looking for is a control box that can be mounted on a
tray, as that is the only position in which he can drive, with a
separate switch for On/OFF, tilt mechanism, ELRs and to switch from
drive mode to actuators and reverse.... Am I asking for too much??

I have contacted Dynamic and the best solution seems to be to use a G80A and

somehow sink it into the tray, which is not the big problem, but it can only

take 2 switches (not sure though how that would cater for all the
functions....)
unless I connect it to a 5 switch module (DX-55W) but reading through the
info
it doesn't seem to be designed for what I am looking for. The other option I
was
recommended to use is a DX ARC Switchbox (DX-ARC-SWB). However this is not a
very
straight forward solution as it does not come with the right connections,
those
would have to be made up by some other company....

I would be extremely greatful if anybody could point me in the right
direction!!
