The device I saw of this nature was an encumbrance fitted to the back of
the wheelchair. It was at the prototype stage. A consultant at
Chichester was championing it but I don't recall it making it to
production.

A few years ago I saw a device which you bolted to the back of a
wheelchair,
which the attendant stepped on to lift the rear axle up over a step. I
haven't been able to find any trace of these since. Are they still
available?
