*********** Apologies for cross-posting **********
Dear all,
CoFHE LASEC (London & South-East Circle) is organising a half-day
practical workshop, led by Anne Rowlands from Barnet College, on livening
up your Library Inductions!
Ever noticed the glazed looks when you take a new group of students around
your centre? Ever wished you could enthuse your audience whilst covering
the main aspects of your service? If you answer “yes” to these questions,
this half-day workshop might give you some ideas.
Last year Barnet College revised their induction programme based on a
model used by Cardiff University. This workshop will look at some of the
changes and the problems that occurred and include some group work.
At the end of the session you will be able to take away that glazed look
from your students and hopefully have some ideas on how to make your
induction more interesting without losing the focus.
The workshop will take place at CILIP in Ridgmount on Wednesday 6th July
from 2-4pm, and will cost the following:
Lunch, followed by the Workshop (from 1pm) - £25 + VAT per person
Workshop only (from 2pm) - £20 + VAT per person
To book your place, please contact Mark Tonkiss at Carshalton College
(Tel: 020 8544 4344 or Email: [log in to unmask]).
Hope to see you there!
Nick Turner,
Secretary, CoFHE LASEC.
