Dating finds

Since I read above that pottery finds cannot be more
accurate than 100 years, then do metalware finds provide
a more accurate date? Perhaps by analysis of the chemical
components, and their physical makeup, the type of production
and the source of the components would provide accuracy?
i.e in metals such as bronze copper and iron in pre-Conquest
Britain.
Thanks, Edgar
