Anthropology at Oxford 1905-2005
St Hugh's College, Oxford, UK
15th - 18th September
2005 marks the 100th anniversary of Anthropology at Oxford, and ISCA is celebrating this occasion with a Centenary Conference at St Hugh's College.
The Conference will consist of: a workshop on the history of anthropology at the University since it was first taught in 1905; a workshop looking to the future, with the revival of a more holistic anthropology including the study of the material culture and biological aspects of social experience; and a panel of professional anthropologists trained at Oxford and hailing from different parts of the world who will discuss their experience of the subject over time and on different continents.
This unique event offers the chance to reconnect with our anthropological roots, past friends or colleagues, while reflecting on the subject's history in Oxford and sharing in aspects of its present and aspirations for its future.
If you are interested to learn more, or wish to register to attend, please visit ISCA's website and click on the conference links at www.isca.ox.ac.uk
