Job description
Home Office
BUILDING A SAFE, JUST AND TOLERANT SOCIETY
COUNTING ON A SAFE, JUST AND TOLERANT SOCIETY
G7 STATISTICIANS
£38,556 - £52,277 PLUS UP TO £2,600 LONDON LOCATION
ALLOWANCE (PAY AWARD PENDING)
Use your talent with numbers to make a difference in a new way. By building
and modernising the statistical framework within the Home Office your
efforts will be realised with national impact. As you produce and analyse
statistics from a range of sources, you'll work with individuals and
organisations towards creating a safe, just and tolerant society.
Specifically, you may target and reduce crime and the fear of crime, or you
may contribute to the management of immigration in the interests of
Britain's security, economic growth and social stability. You may help
educate the public on their real risks of crime, as reported by the British
Crime Survey. You may also produce high profile National Statistics in the
areas of crime or immigration, to provide essential data for policy and
operations in these areas.
You'll be responsible for your own team, so you'll build upon your already
strong management abilities. Communication skills should also be sharp for
presenting information clearly to policy makers and Ministers. Taking
initiative as a creative problem solver will be important in modernising
statistical systems overall.
These are high-level roles and call for candidates with a first- or
second-class degree. Four years' related experience is desirable too. You
may already be working for another Government department, which will also
help ease your transition into the role. If you're up for the challenge,
we're sure you'll be pleased with how your skills can make a difference.
Quoting reference 44581.
