In the context of the Interuniversity Attraction Pole (IAP) research
network, the Institute of Statistics of the Université catholique de
Louvain, Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, is offering a full time postdoctoral
grant for a period of 1 year.
Starting date of the position : September 2005.
Description of the position
The IAP-research network in statistics concerns an international research
project on “statistical techniques and modeling for complex substantive
questions with complex data”, which involves six institutions : the
Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium; the Katholieke Universiteit
Leuven, Belgium ; The Limburgs Universitair Centrum, Belgium; The
Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium; the Technical University Aachen,
Germany and the Université Joseph Fourier, Grenoble, France. The
coordination of the network is done by the Université catholique de
Louvain. The IAP-project is organised around six work packages : functional
estimation, time series, survival analysis, mixed models, classification
and mixture models and incompleteness and latent variables.
The main duty of this postdoctoral grant is to perform research in one of
the six work packages described above. A limited teaching duty is possible
(e.g. a short course on the candidate’s area of research,…)
Required qualifications
- Holding a doctor degree in statistics or a Ph. D. in statistics;
- Having a good academic record;
- Having interest in collaboration with members of the Institute of
statistics.
