Subject: Managing Equality & Diversity and Impact Assessment
Colleagues may be interested in the following information from Trinity
Development:
Course: Managing Equality & Diversity and Impact Assessment
Dates: 15 & 16 February 2005 (either or both)
Venue: Southampton Institute
Cost: 1 day £150 or both days £200 (refreshments and lunch supplied)
This course will introduce delegates to mainstreaming Equality and
Diversity thinking into the strategic management decision making process.
At the core of the programme is a series of challenging and engaging
interactive case study sessions highlighting the regulatory liabilities and
responsibilities of staff at all levels. The training will also develop
practical and relevant skills to help build solutions and remove barriers.
A key element of this programme will be sessions on Impact Assessment - a
specific requirement of the Race Relations (Amendment) Act - helping
institutions to meet legislative requirements and develop proactive
approaches to the promotion of Equality and Diversity.
Day 1 is geared towards colleagues who have some knowledge and background
but who could benefit from a recap and perhaps more in depth look at the
background and history of discrimination law (race in particular), and
Impact Assessment. Day 2 is for experienced colleagues who would like to
learn more about and discuss the machinations, and complexities of Impact
Assessment (and its implementation); what it means for individual members
of staff, the institution and all its stakeholders.

or obtain further information.
