medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
"Halverson, Jim" <[log in to unmask]> asked:

It's unfortunate that the web page Al Magary cited didn't link to the
"internet site devoted to debunking hoaxes and legends," but it's
Snopes.com:
http://www.snopes.com/holidays/christmas/12days.asp
I encourage those interested in the details of the evidence to visit
it. Although I wouldn't depend on Snopes' infallibility, it's
unfortunate for the case for the story's truth that
http://www.cresourcei.org/cy12days.html doesn't adduce any further
evidence nor counter its opponents' "logical deduction and
probabilities," a sample of which can be found at Snopes.
I will now desperately try to find a way to work Al's "ur-urban" into
a conversation.
