well, they made a pretty good fist of it, as it were... an exhilarating
chronological canter of the topic... origins, chapbook, marlowe, goethe,
coleridge, thomas mann, with much contextualisation.
there are BIG time constraints but i did miss specific mention of (g's)
'faust II', and would have especially welcomed some attention to
gretgen/gretchen (cf. also gounod's 'f.').
the latest melvyn b. post-broadcast e-mailed newsletter (one subscribes to
the n/l. via the webpage) carried on the discussion, mind (not on these two
points).
