I would like to get some information on the different versions of the
Dancing Hours figures used by Wedgwood on Basalt and Jasperware pieces. I
know that the original figures designed by Flaxman were heftier and wore
sheer outfits. The figures used from the mid 1900's to the present are
very different and much more well draped. However, there is a third
version about which I have not been able to find any writings. These
figures dance with great abandon and have wilder or 'frizzy' hair. They
appear to be used in the late 1800s to early 1900s. Can anyone give me
more information or point me to a good source?
