Yes, this is certainly the approach to take. It is just that we need to
think carefully about which free parameters represents the best choice
given how observers collect and calibrate their data typically. We should
probably canvas the opinion of other Support Astronomers here.
If we wanted a completely general solution we'd be able to do automatic
conversions between T*A, T_mb, T_b, TR* and all of the other measures
which are in K too (given enough information about beam/source solid
angles and the various telescope specific efficiencies).
