Another fairly recent discussion involved "who may baptize?" One list member mentioned his mother's Jewish obstetrician, prepared to baptize in case of emergency. The opinion that won the day was that anyone may baptize if s/he has the right intention and understands what s/he is doing. If I remember correctly...
