that would have been quite an endowment in real estate.
reminds me a bit of an account in the cartulary of St. Martin des Champs (i
think it was) of the gift of a righ-of-way through a town, as wide as the
donor's outstretched arms as he rode through it.
the measuring of land was sometimes rather _ad hoc_, en ces temps la.
