Lectureship in Economic Geography
We seek applicants with a proven track record in research and the
successful applicant will be expected to develop a leading role in the
furtherance of economic geography in the Department. The ability to publish
regularly in leading international journals; to raise research funding as
required; to supervise doctoral students; and to think strategically about
emerging research agendas in economic geography is expected.
We hold a very broad view of what constitutes economic geography and see
the appointee bringing fresh ideas in this field to the Department in ways
that build bridges between the economic and our interests in either the
environment, or social, political or cultural geography, or with Geographic
Information Science. We have no preference between knowledge of advanced or
less well developed economies and would welcome experience of comparative
analysis between different regions of the world.
The closing date for applications is Wednesday 17 November 2004. It is
hoped to conduct interviews in December.
Informal enquiries may be made by contacting the Head of Department,
Professor Richard Munton, +44 (0)20 7679 7562 or by email
