It was indeed a clean checkout, and autoconf and automake appeared to
build correctly. I've gone back and done another checkout, and this one
doesn't show the problem. Possibly I've just run into a non-atomic CVS
problem and caught a file mid-update. *scratch head*
I'm rebuilding on Linux now, so we'll see...
As an aside, I'm also rebuilding under Mac OSX. Apart from a "Don't know
how to build applications/docfind manifest" error (which of course you can
get round by building it manually), my "make world" is still going. A lot
less problems this time than last...
