Okay so I'm obviously also having to build the Java stuff as well for the
JavaSpaces demo, funny that, however I've run into a problem right at the
start trying to build the Starlink version of ant.
Having previously installed a fresh JDK into /h/jini/jdk-1.4.2_05
and having the following environment configured
setenv PATH /h/jini/jdk-1.4.2_05/bin:${PATH}
setenv JAVA_HOME /h/jini/jdk-1.4.2_05
setenv JDK_HOME /h/jini/jdk-1.4.2_05
setenv STARJAVA ${JDK_HOME}/bin/java
setenv CLASSPATH .
I go to the ant directory,
pinky{jini}: pwd
/pinky/jini/checkout/java/source/ant
pinky{jini}: setenv PATH `pwd`/bin:${PATH}
pinky{jini}: which java
/h/jini/jdk-1.4.2_05/bin/java
pinky{jini}:
and try and build it...
pinky{jini}: ant install
/star/java/jre-1.3.1_02
Buildfile: build.xml
.
.
.
and get entirely the wrong version of Java! There is a /star on this
machine, but I think it's the Spring'00 release, and I don't believe
I've got a single environment varibale that points to it's existance.
Does the build stuff use the Java in /star in preference to everything
else, even if you point it elsewhere? This isn't what the README.Starlink
seems to be suggesting?
Confused! And since it's now 03:42 I think confused means home time.
Cheers,
Al.
