Being too indulgent to his nephew? Wasn't he a compromise candidate, chosen
because he wasn't expected to live long, and thus would presumably not be
able to do too much damage?
Doesn't Eugenius IV usually get the blame for Ferdinand I's succession? Was
there much that Calixtus III could do about it when Alfonso V died, see that
he was nearly dead himself?
