Apologies for my delay in thanking the many of you that responded to my
query about the existence of any e-learning packages on Records Management.
For those of you that also expressed interest in sharing these responses
and I've not yet been in contact with, please find a summary of responses
and my further investigations.
In short there does not appear to be any such product in the market place
or elsewhere.
This doesn't appear to be an area of development that is on the current
agenda of the RMS Local Government Group or the National Archives as yet,
and perhaps the only other possible on the horizon is IDEA's e-learning
module on FOI, which apparently will touch on Records Management- (although
to what extent I don't yet know).
However I was directed to the following by several people:
<http://195.10.246.65/intro_0.asp> JISC's e-learning packing on electronic
records mangement, which would seem to be useful resource, although
tailored obviously to the HE sector and a little more in-depth than my
target audience might require.
My attention was also drawn to the existence of alternative training
sources such as 'ACT Now' and vendors that might be able to develop such
programmes, although I'm now looking at in-house options.
Many thanks again,
