italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
I am an historian with poor Italian language skills and need to understand
the contents of letters dating from this period. I need to discover one or
more persons familiar with written text and who would like to become
involved with its translation. I possess photo-copies of the material in
question.
A separate issue is that some letters have a portion of them in cipher,
consisting of one or two words per line where the letters are substituted
by digits.
De-diphering is another step which the basic translator[s] need not be
familiar with, though anyone familiar with both would be a bonus.
I would very much like to hear from anyone who feels they can help me on
this. I would be able to offer some financial assistance.
