Regarding the comments:
"- Many requirements of 5015.2 are referenced to one of no less than 44
US Federal Regulations, NARA guidance, DOD standards and so on.
Absolutely useless outside the USA.
Sorry to go on about this, but I'd hate to think non-US readers of this
list will be misled into thinking 5015.2 is worth spending any more time
on."
Would readers remember that outside of the public sector, there are many UK
organisations that are subject to US regulation. The pharmaceutical industry
is perhaps one of the best examples where, if they wish to market a new drug
in the Unites States, they have to comply with US Federal Regulations (most
notably 21.CFR). Thus, to say that 5015.2 is absolutely useless outside the
USA is not an accurate statement. It has limited utility, but in some
sectors of industry it would be foolish to overlook it and may even be a
requirement to have data accepted by US regulatory agencies.
Not directly pertinent to the original thread, but a relevant clarification,
I think.

Eldin Rammell.
