Noteworthy among the many medieval texts devoted to W. is the
prosimetric _Passio sancti Wenzeslai regis_ of Laurentius, monk of St.
Benedict (BHL 8824). Probably written before its learned author's
election and consecration in 1030 as archbishop of Amalfi (whence he is
better known as Lawrence of Amalfi), it will be found Francis Newton's
edition of L.'s _Opera_ (Weimar: Hermann Bo"hlaus Nachfolger, 1973; MGH,
Quellen zur Geistesgeschichte des Mittelalters, Bd. 7) at pp. 23-42.
Best,
John Dillon
PS: Some USAmericans will also remember with pleasure the cartoonist
Walt Kelly's burlesque in "Pogo" of the Christmas carol "Good King
Wenceslas".
