We all know that digital preservation is a good thing, now find out how
to do it and what good preservation can mean for accessing a wide range
of digital resources and making them available to the archaeological
community….
There are a few places left on the ADS workshop, Digital Resources for
Archaeologists in Local Government (Preservation, Portals and
Publishing) on Thursday 23rd September 2004 at The King’s Manor,
Exhibition Square, York.
1030 Registration and Coffee.
1100 Introduction and Welcomes.
1110 Preservation – a practical session on preservation of digital data,
the importance of metadata and documentation and how to use it.
1230 Lunch.
1330 Portals – a chance to catch up on portals, common information
environments and how to share data.
1500 Tea.
1520 Publication – find out how the digital world is coping with
archaeological publication and archives.
1600 Close.
The cost of the day is £15, this includes refreshments on arrival, lunch
and tea and a copy of a ‘Guide to Good Practice’ of your choice.
