Dear All,
for those that are interested, the Barck et. al. quotation is taken from Hans Bentzien, "Meine Sekretäre und ich" (Neues Leben: Berlin, 1995), p. 158. Bentzien goes on to say that Kurella then rang him up in the middle of the night to insist that the Bitterfeld motto be extended to include the sentence "Die sozialistische Nationalkultur braucht dich!". Bentzien then set off at 5 in the morning "und suchte den Schildermaler".

Subject: Greif zur Feder, Kumpel! 2
Dear all,
Thanks for the many swift responses. Bill Niven of Nottingham Trent was
able to provide me with a reference, and, since some of you asked me to
pass it on, here it is:
Wismut arbeite'."
Best wishes,
David Clarke
