Welcome to the third FOLIO Course on 'Maximising the impact of your service
You have been added to the FOLIO discussion-list at Jiscmail which will
be used to deliver materials and course instructions. You will receive
an introductory message next Monday (13th September) which is when the
course begins. The purpose of this email is merely to assure you that
you have registered successfully.
You are one of 54 successful candidates enrolled on the course. In
addition to members of the course team (Andrew Booth, Anthea Sutton,
Alan O'Rourke, Lynda Ayiku, and Tricia Campsell), the list will be joined
by an expert "guest" - Sue Lacey Bryant. Sue Lacey Bryant is an Independent
Information Specialist who has great experience in the field of impact
analysis. She will contribute to the course if and when she sees a
particular need. The final member of the list is Alison Turner, Library
Partnership Co-ordinator for the National electronic Library for Health
(NeLH) who have funded the FOLIO Programme over the next two years. Alison
manages the FOLIO Programme from the NeLH side.
Two early dates for your diary are: Tuesday 28th September and Wednesday
6th October. On these dates we will offer two 'dial-in' telephone
conference lectures. These will be run twice during each day (i.e. a.m. and
pm.). The first lecture will be on the topic of 'Marketing and promoting
libary services' and it will be presented by Alison Turner. The second
lecture will be on 'Maximising and measuring impact' and it will be
presented by David Streatfield. David Streatfield has produced many
publications on the topic of measuring impact and has more than twenty five
years' experience of information management in public, private and
voluntary organisations. The lectures will also be recorded for anyone
who has to miss the live version!
So further details are to be provided next week.
Until then best wishes from all the Course Team.
We hope that you enjoy the Maxim course!
