UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD
Board of the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages
Fixed-term, part-time Lectorship in Italian
Salary pro-rata to £16,928 per annum.
The post is available from 1st October 2004 or as soon as possible
afterwards. The appointee will be required to give classes in the oral
use of Italian, to take part as an additional examiner in oral
examinations, and to provide reports to tutors. Applicants should be
fluent in Italian to native speaker level, and should normally have been
recently resident in Italy, or in a country where Italian is one of the
major languages spoken. They should have a good command of English, and
experience of teaching the relevant language at an appropriate level,
together with an interest in working with a range of modern techniques of
language teaching. Applicants must be graduates of a university in a
country where Italian is spoken to native level.
This is a fixed-term post in order to ensure that undergraduate students
have contact with an individual who is able to demonstrate a recent
knowledge of Italian language and culture. In view of this, the post is
not normally tenable for a period of more than 45 months.
The closing date for applications is 10th September 2004. Further
