Dear Colleagues,
1. First and foremost, I would really like to thank the people who were involved in the organisation of this conference. I feel that the level of organisation has most certainly improved from last year; rooms, meals, chairs during paper sessions, transport, student support etc....
2. I would really like to say that I enjoyed immensely the abberley/corker session - it was great...
3. I loved the 'Nordic alliance' presentation.
4. I enjoyed the bar sessions - company and alcohol!
5. Some of the papers were great....
However, I must say that at times this Conference felt like a commonwealth session with the UK standing as the firm leader - even though we are sitting around one table! I felt that as a 'foreign delegate' I could have given more to the conference, but it was UK, USA, UK, USA most of the time. Maybe it was my fault that I didn't believe enough and contributing more - but it felt awfully uncomfortable most of the time to not be a 'UKarian/USA arian'. Sorry about this, but I will consider whether I will come to the UK for another DSA conference, unless there are enough guarantees that what we people from outside the UK/USA have to say is considered as valid...
We in Malta have much to learn from others - but we have much to give as well....
Andrew Azzopardi
