Sorry, but I agree with Nancy. And while I don't advocate censorship, I
do advocate people realizing the consequences of their actions and taking
responsibility for them. When a listserve becomes so dominated by a
handful of posters (or one, as in this case), it often discourages others
from contributing and, in my case, makes me begin to delete things without
reading them. I think 20 posts from one participant in as brief a time as
the ones we received overnight from ColRevs is irresponsible and feels
like "spam." My approach is simple: I automatically delete without
reading anything posted by ColRevs. That may mean I miss some of the
"urgent" information he may have to offer, but I guess that's just the way
it goes. I'll take responsibility for how I choose to handle the overload
of such postings, but it might behoove the posater to rethink his
rhetorical strategies. Sometimes the more items there are, the less
persuasive they become in terms of their credibility.
