Defence Estates is an Executive Agency of the Ministry of Defence with
responsibility for delivering an estate of the right size and in the correct
condition for use by the Services, in a timely and cost effective manner.
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals with professional
qualifications and competence in addition to strong communication and
inter-personal skills and the ability to work in a team environment within a
project management culture to fill our current vacancies.
On its rural holdings the MOD manages some of the most significant
archaeological landscapes in the UK whilst on its built estate it is
currently engaged in a number of large-scale developments where archaeology
is a planning issue.
The post-holder, an archaeologist, will sit in the DE's Environmental
Support Team's Historic Environment Team. You will support the team leader
in the production of management plans, co-ordinating condition monitoring,
giving project specific development control advice, inputting into the
Environmental Impact Assessment process and sub-contracting specialists to
deliver fieldwork as necessary. You will act as advisors on archaeology to
staff and projects across the MOD.
