I like the idea of pursuing the Buddhist idea of master/ teacher/ guide -
more of an apprentice model perhaps; consultation and mentoring models
helpful too. And playing with words, as a colleague at Exeter, Chris Ward
has suggested - something like sideways vision maybe better; or maybe a
different metaphor instead of a visual one; super - hearing perhaps.
Hierarchical notions of supervision sit uncomfortably with community/
radical psychology principles - but I wonder how we square this with what
is structurally present in currently highly managed education/ healthcare
settings; no good denying real structural/power differences?
