Hi Dan,
In XML you should use GivenName and FamilyName (coupled with other suitable constructs for, eg, middle names, generations etc). I think that vCard may have
dosumented all of this stuff. When presenting this information in a UI you must,
of course, use local conventions. For example, in Romanian, you would display
the GivenName in a field called Prenume.
The abomination of "Christian name" is frequently found in Britain too. Nowadays,
when asked "What is your Christian name?", I respond with "I haven't got one".

He, he !
You can afford such subtleties in English :-)
But - in order not to be Western-centric - what can I do in Romanian ?
'Given name' is 'prenume' (like in French 'prenom'). "Pre-" means - as
expected - "before", "in front of", i.e. (the famous) "first". There is an -
even worse :-) - [rarely used] synonim: (in free translation) "christian
name" or (in literal translation) "baptismal name" !
