Teaching Fellow in German Language
Applications are invited for a full-time post of Teaching Fellow in
German in the Department of Language and Linguistics from 1 September
2004.
The person appointed will be expected to organise and run an Intensive
Beginners German course and contribute to German language teaching on
existing pre A-level courses. He or she may also be asked to contribute
to other courses as appropriate. The appointee will also be required to
carry out administrative and examining duties, and some materials
development for German, especially for web-based or other on-line
resources. The maximum teaching load will be 16 hours per week.
Candidates must have native speaker fluency in German and be
experienced teachers. An MA in a relevant discipline, together with
previous experience in the use of IT for language learning and teaching
and in the development of self-access study materials would be
advantageous.
Appointment to this post will be for two years in the first instance,
but there is the prospect of a further contract at the end of this
period. Salary will be within the range £19,460 - £24,820 per annum.
