Inclusion is holding a Migration and Work Conference on 1 July to coincide with the launch of the Newcomers Handbook. Jane Kennedy, Minister of State for Work will be giving the keynote speech. This will be followed by plenary speeches from Sarah Spencer, Director of Policy Research at the Centre on Migration, Policy and Society (COMPAS) and Sunder Katwala, General Secretary of the Fabian Society.
In the afternoon there will be four workshops (held, of which delegates will be asked to choose two. The chairs of the workshops will be Don Flynn from the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants, Nick Clark from the TUC, Beryl Randall from the Employability Forum, and Danny Sriskandarajah from ippr.
The Newcomers Handbook is a key source of guidance for any organisation working with migrants in the UK, covering benefits in and out of work, employment rights, training and volunteering and how immigration status fits with work.
The event costs £135+VAT for voluntary organisation and £185+VAT for public bodies, private companies and academic institutions.
The Newcomers Handbook costs £17.95 plus £2 p&p.
