Hi David
In general terms, yes, I'm interested, although I have several things already planned for around that time and therefore will struggle to make the event.
Best wishes, Bob

Dear List serve member,
The Stirling Community Psychology Group would be happy to host a one day
'commemorative workshop' in Stirling on the actual 15th anniversary of the
murder of Ignacio Martín Baró, i.e. 16th November 2004, if there were
sufficient interest in supporting it amongst critical community and
liberation psychologists and allies. It would be good if it were a UK rather
than Scottish event but we appreciate it is a long way for some to travel.
We would prefer the 'commemoration' to be a working meeting focusing on the
development and utilisation of a
currently-UK-relevant-liberation-psychology. We also think it important that
it is a 'critical' event and that critical reflection on Martin Baro's work
and liberation psychology itself is encouraged during the day. That is
whilst we want to commemorate we do not want to 'merely' pay tribute to the
past. However we would welcome the establishment of a steering group if the
day went ahead.
Neville Robertson, community psychologist from Waikato University, New
Zealand will be visiting the Stirling Community Psychology Group during
November 2004 and Neville may be prepared to contribute to the day if it
went ahead.
This would have to be a 'low maintenance' event in trems of little
organisation required at this end. We have no budget for this but could
provide the venue (at the University of Stirling) free of charge. Those
coming would need to be able to pay for their own travel, accommodation and
subsistence. Stirling has a railway station, bus station and the nearest
airports are Edinburgh and Glasgow (each less than an hour away depending on
traffic).
Would this be of interest to enough list members to make it worthwhile? If
so what would you like to happen at the day event?
