Land Regeneration Network (LRN) - Invitation to FREE Seminars/Workshops
(17th June – 15th July)
"Hazardous Waste & European Waste Catalogue"
17th June 2004 - Cardiff University, Cardiff, South Wales, UK
14th July 2004 - WDA Offices, St Asaph, North Wales, UK
15th July 2004 - Coleg Powys, Newtown, Mid Wales, UK
The Geoenvironmental Research Centre’s Land Regeneration Network,
supported by the Environment Agency Wales, is hosting a seminar and
workshop series across Wales on understanding and conducting hazardous
waste assessments, and the European Waste
Catalogue.
These FREE events are very timely with the changes in classification of
landfill coming into effect on 16th July 2004.
All land, waste and environmental management practitioners in Wales need
to be aware of the changing implications for waste types and how this will
affect current waste disposal practises in the UK. Individuals should
understand clearly the assessment requirements needed to identify
potential hazardous properties set out in the Hazardous Waste Directive,
and how existing and future disposal practises may then need to be
reconsidered.
The workshop is tailored to the needs of LRN stakeholders interested and
involved in the challenges of Hazardous Waste, and the European Waste
Catalogue.

15:30 - Understanding the European Waste Catalogue
