VACANCIES
IRDES, the Institut de recherche et de documentation en économie de la santé (previously CREDES, Centre de Recherche d'Etude et de Documentation en Economie de la Santé), is looking for 
A senior scientist and a scientist with doctoral-level training in economics
Role 
Development and leadership of research projects, as well as participation in research projects led by others, in one or more of the following domains:
- health-care insurance (demand for insurance and the impact of insurance on the consumption of health care) and health-care regulation (organization of social-protection systems and private insurance markets, interaction of these systems and markets with health-care delivery systems, and international comparisons);
- inequalities in health and health-care utilization (empirical measures and the determinants and consequences of inequalities in terms of equity and redistribution);
- consequences of the ageing of the population on social-protection system expenditures, coverage policies for the dependent elderly.
Skills and experience 
Development of ideas for new research projects, identification of national and international collaborators to pursue research projects, and obtaining external financing to support research projects.
Management of multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., medicine, social sciences, and statistics). 
Writing and editing for different target audiences (e.g., academics, policymakers, and the general public) and using research knowledge to inform public debates (e.g., through participation in colloquia).
For one of the two posts, advanced skills in econometrics, both to execute appropriate modeling and data analytic approaches and to advise others about them
At least ten years of research experience for the senior scientist, and five years for the scientist. 
Required qualities 
Intellectual rigour coupled with an ability to work both independently and in multi-disciplinary teams. 
Mastery of standard econometric tools (SAS, Stata and/or Limdep). 
Very good spoken and written English. 
Permanent employment contract. 
Management position.
