An Automatic script is certainly possible with the FISH Toolkit XML

Dear Dave and All,
Assuming there will be an automatic import script for Exegesis or other
SMR software so you don't actually have to manually cut and paste OASIS
data into your own SMR, how are you going to validate the different
sections of contractor-entered information UNLESS you go through their
reports in minute detail ? Or are you just going to accept what the
contractor says and validate without checking ? Also, OASIS intends to
be inclusive, so you will be getting information from people doing local
society digs, ecclesiastical exemption archaeology, and university digs
too. This all adds up to MORE work than we do at present. Be under no
illusion, OASIS does not mean less work.
Cheers,
Neil

I simply can't agree that substantial amounts of time are required for
curators, after all we are, in this case, receivers of information. It
certainly is much easier than examining each and ever assessment in
minute detail.

It's not the training I'm concerned about..it's that OASIS will demand
a
substantial amount of time that as a single curator in an authority
that I
simply don't have.
