I feel that this situation is not only a personal challenge for Prof. Mitchell , but also for the wider disability community. It is so strange that all over we complain that people do not take their responsibilities and commitments seriously and yet we thwart the efforts of those who do it. A demand to look into the safety is a perfectly reasonable It cannot be considered as a reason for resignation or removal. It is ironical that this is happening, because of safety issues of students in a disability studies program, as we the disabled community all over the world do believe that it is academia which would contribute to bring in a change in the attitudes towards disabled people. A safe space for such programmers has to be found, if quality of life of disabled has to change.
In solidarity
