Hi all
I would just like to add to Mike Gill's comments by noting the strong support which the disabled students protests have received from the wider disability community. In particular, Access Living, the Progress Center for Independent Living, and Not Dead Yet have all supported these protests in one way or another. I would like to make special mention of Sarah Triano, one of the founders of the National Disabled Students Union, who has been noteable for her strong commitment and solidarity. This support has occurred at the same time as over 50 disability studies scholars (from inside and outside the USA) have sent messages of support. Clearly, the support for the protesting students extends well beyond the campus of UIC.
Cheers
