I've finally got round to trying to install LCG2 on the UCL testbed
machines, but I get a kernel panic when I try to install a node. The
message I get is:
Kernel panic: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel.
Looking back at the "lcfgng_installroot.pl" stage, I got a warning
"package kernel-smp-2.4.20-28.7 is for a different architecture", which
presumably arises because the LCFGng server is an old i586 machine while
the nodes are i686. Is this what is causing the kernel panic, and how can
I get round it? Surely LCFGng shouldn't require the nodes to have exactly
the same architecture as the server.
