**Apologies for cross posting**
Hi there
In our RDN/LTSN interoperability work, we are very keen to collect
reviews of learning resources from both teachers and students.
We are currently considering what format reviews might take, and
wondered whether colleagues on this list had any sage words to offer as
advice.
Obviously such reviews would be subjective, unlike the objective
descriptions that we would catalogue in partnership with BIOME
(http://www.biome.ac.uk), our own RDN (http://www.rdn.ac.uk) hub.
We are quite enamoured of the Amazon style of review with a textual
description of use and usefulness, coupled with a star rating system.
Is anyone else collecting or planning to collect reviews like this?
If so how are they being collected/catalogued?
And what schemas are people using/recommending?
The annotation element in the LOM is clearly where such info _could_
reside, but we wonder what further attributes people are using to
describe reviews, since one element is clearly insufficient.
We think we would need to catalogue:
- the POI of the resource
- who it is making the annotation/review
- further elements would be needed to contain the educational context
- somewhere for rating the resource
- the target audience that the rating applies to e.g. this is unsuitable
for undergraduate dentists.
It seems to us that some kind of RDF schema might fit the bill.
Thoughts, plans and experiences much appreciated.....
Many thanks and best wishes
Suzanne
