I recently posted an enquiry on this list aboout this work going on in
support of the Framework for the Future.
I have been able to summarise the findings of our enquiries so far into
this MLA funded research, and they have been put up on to a web log set
up for this work.
The web log is, we think, a new way of sharing information and findings
with interested people. The topic - community cohesion - is relatively
new to local governmnet and to libraries - but is being actively pursued
by Government. It relates to the issues of social exclusion and inclusion.
The use of a web log for ongoing research and debate is new too. On it
we have set up a number of bite-sized chunks of information and findings
for you to comment on. The web log enables you to see responses from
other people and to post your own.
We think that this is fairly straightforward way of validating and
enhancing our emerging findings. For you, we think that you can
contribute to the development of national policy in a way that does not
intrude too much on your time.
To see the web log, please go top
http://neighbourhoods.typepad.com/libraries.
To see a summary of findings so far, click on the category 'Research
questions'. Read the 'what is this section' first.
I look forward to your comments on anything you read on the web log.
If you have any problems using the web log - and it may not be that
intuitive to use - please email [log in to unmask]
