I have raised this question with OPOCE and will forward a reply when
received. In the interm, I would refer you to the press release of OPOCE of
January 27 about new contracts for printing the OJ. There is nothing to
indicate that the paper edition will cease. The OJ has been produced for a
number of years from digital files - which also form the basis of the pdf
versions available since 1998.

Subject: swich to digital publication of the Official Journal?
Dear colleagues
the Office for Official Publications intends, in the light of the expansion
of the EU and tecnological developments, to switch to digital publication of
the Official Journal under certain conditions. It is important to signal the
problem that until now only EU legislation published in paper editions of
the Official Journal of the EU is deemed authentic. Does someone know if the
Office for Official publications has a solution for this when it starts
official digital publication?
