networks that involve ports, container ships, railways, trucking, the
internet and warehousing. Are you interested in doing PhD research that
can also help unions understand and respond to global change of
logistics and globalisation with new global strategies?

this ESRC CASE STUDENTSHIP based at Queen Mary, University of London,
working with the International Transport Workers Federation could be for

The aims of the project are to:
* Map the development of global logistics firms, their expanding reach
and their role in the processes of globalisation.
* Explore the changing regulatory environment of the logistics industry.
* Understand the changing nature of employment practices, industrial
relations and trade union organisation in the global logistics sector.
We are looking for someone with a social sciences Masters degree and
some understanding of the trade union movement.
