No, it's bootstrapped from ./configure files which are checked in. The
files in autoconf, automake and libtool are basically the distributed
versions of those packages rather than the CVS versions, so they build
as-is, except that autoconf has to be installed before automake. And,
of course, they need GNU m4.
I think I shouldn't have mentioned /usr/bin/autoconf at all in the
original message: it was just meant to be a `nothing up my sleeves'
kind of thing.
