David,
Try Fred Nash at Essex County Council. He has been beavering away for ages
on a world war II defences survey for Essex & Southend and has (I think)
completed a survey of Rochford airfield (now Southend Airport).

Subject: Filton Airfield
Is anyone aware of assessments being carried out on WWII airfields,
concentrating on WWII buildings and defences rather than anything earlier. I
have a vague notion of something happening at Hornchurch Essex, but I could
be wrong!
Thank You
